Edward K. Buckley served as a staff sergeant in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was the radar operator aboard the Great Artiste during the Hiroshima mission. Although he was regularly assigned to the Great Artiste, he flew in Bockscar in the mission to Nagasaki.
