Elsie Pierce was a motor pool driver at Los Alamos during the Second World War. She joined the Women’s Army Corps after her older brother joined the Army. Because of this, she had a strong sense of commitment to the overall war effort. In fact, she broke an engagement in order to serve with the Army at Los Alamos.
