Emerald Lyons Jr. was an electrical engineer at Oak Ridge, Tennessee from 1944 to 1945.
Dorothy worked at Oak Ridge during the Manhattan Project as a “calutron girl.” After her brother was killed in the attack on Pearl Harbor, she was eager to join the war effort, and did so starting in 1944.
Leon Cooper served as a 2nd lieutenant in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was the bombardier regularly assigned to the B-29 Next Objective.
