James R. Corliss served as a technical sergeant in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was regularly assigned to work as a flight engineer on the Up An’ Atom but did not fly in that plane during the August 1945 bombing missions on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Charles E. Mize served in the 603rd Air Engineering Squadron.
Margaret (“Chickie”) Broderick was a chemist at MIT during the Manhattan Project. Broderick was born Margaret McHugh in Boston, Massachusetts in 1921.
Robert H. Byrd served as a staff sergeant in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was the radio operator regularly assigned to the B-29 Some Punkins.
