Gladys Evans worked as a Calutron girl at the Y-12 Plant at Oak Ridge, TN. She experienced the living conditions at Oak Ridge, including the weather, heightened security, and social life.
Anthony D. Capua, Jr. served as a sergeant in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was regularly assigned as an assistant engineer/scanner in the Up An’ Atom, but did not fly in that plane in the August 1945 bombing missions on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Andrew H. MacMahon was the Chief Property Officer of the University of Chicago’s Metallurgical Laboratory (“Met Lab”) during the Manhattan Project.
