Elberta Honstein (née Lowdermilk) was the daughter of Elbert Lowdermilk, the contractor whose construction company, Lowdermilk Brothers, built roads and utility lines around Los Alamos during the Manhattan Project.
James J. Wainscott served in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron.
Before the war, Reynolds worked closely with Ernest Lawrence planning and developing the cyclotrons at the University of California at Berkeley, as well as working in the radiation lab at there.
