Wayne Alexander Bowers was born on March 1, 1919 in Bilbao, Spain. His father traveled as a minister, so Bowers grew up in small towns throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
Elaine (Lewitz) Novey was a laboratory assistant and technician in the Chemistry Division at the University of Chicago Met Lab and Oak Ridge.
M. B. Deason worked in the 300 Area at Hanford during the Manhattan Project.
Jacob Epting worked as a carpenter in Oak Ridge, TN from November 1942 to October 1943. While Epting assumed he was building a hospital, he was never formally told about the project he was working on.
