Joe McKibben was born and raised in rural Missouri before obtaining a PhD in physics from the University of Wisconsin.
Jacob Epting worked as a carpenter in Oak Ridge, TN from November 1942 to October 1943. While Epting assumed he was building a hospital, he was never formally told about the project he was working on.
William Kann was a research associate at the University of Chicago’s Metallurgical Laboratory (“Met Lab”) during the Manhattan Project.
