William Nierenberg was an accomplished theoretical physicist and oceanographer, who is known for his work in magnetic resonance and low-energy nuclear physics.
Stanley Stief attended Pennsylvania State University. He remained in the Oak Ridge area, working first for the government and later for Union Carbide.
R. A Winkel worked for the Union Carbide & Carbon Corporation. At Oak Ridge he assisted in the development of the K-25 plant.
