Gilbert Plass was a Canadian physicist.
Plass was born in 1922 in Toronto. He received a B.S. in physics from Harvard University before being hired to work on the Manhattan Project at the Chicago Met Lab, where he worked as an associate physicist.
After the war, Plass would earn a Ph.D. in physics from Princeton University and went on to teach at the University of Chicago, Johns Hopkins University, Michigan State University, the University of Texas at Arlington and Texas A&M University. His research during this time included bold predictions of global warming as a consequence of rising levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide.
Plass died on March 1, 2004, in Bryan, Texas.
