John L. Kuranz (1921-1995) was an American engineer, physicist, and inventor. During the Manhattan Project, Kuranz was a member of the Special Engineer Detachment at the University of Chicago Met Lab.
E. L. Forbes worked for the Tennessee Eastman Corporation at the Y-12 Plant.
Peter Lax is a Hungarian-born American mathematician. Lax and his family left Hungary for America in 1941, just days before Pearl Harbor.
