Francis McHale was a security and safety man, a civilian, with the Corps of Engineers. He came to Hanford from the Pennsylvania Ordnance Works to set up fire and safety and police protection for the Manhattan Engineer District.
Margaret M. Emmerson was a technician at the University of Chicago’s Metallurgical Laboratory (“Met Lab”) during the Manhattan Project.
James Barton worked as a carpenter for the DuPont Company at the Hanford, Washington site. He never knew he was working on the atomic bomb until after it was dropped in Japan.
J. O. Parks worked for the Tennessee Eastman Corporation at the Y-12 Plant.
