Bertrand Goldschmidt was a French chemist, who worked at the University of Chicago’s Metallurgical Laboratory (“Met Lab”) during the Manhattan Project.
Francis R. Ormond served as a flight officer in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was the bombardier regularly assigned first to Luke the Spook and later to Big Stink.
Stanley Stewart was the Contracting Officer at Los Alamos during the Manhattan Project. After the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Stewart wrote, “The security restrictions on our part of the work [at Los Alamos] have been more rigid than than on any other portion of the entire Manhattan Project.
