Robert M. Haider served as a corporal in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was a member of the ground crew regularly assigned to the B-29 Bockscar.
Martin M. Whitaker was a research associate at the University of Chicago’s Metallurgical Lab (“Met Lab”) during the Manhattan Project.
Arno Roensch joined the army in 1944. A glassblower, he was deployed to work at Los Alamos. He was married to Eleanor Roensch, also a Manhattan Project veteran.
