George P. Hammons served as a corporal in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was a member of the ground crew regularly assigned to the B-29 Up An’ Atom.

Diana VanWyck moved to Richland with her husband Fred in 1944 from Charleston, West Virginia, where Fred worked at DuPont's Belle Plant as a technician.
