Theodore Joseph Blechar was born on May 4, 1922 in Brooklyn, New York. His parents, Eugene and Stella Blechar, were Polish immigrants.
After graduating Washington State University in 1950, Carl Higby was recruited to work at Hanford as an operations supervisor for the reactors.
Paul Numerof (1922-2013) was an American chemist. In his early years, Numerof studied at Temple University.
M. F. McDermott worked for the Union Carbide & Carbon Corporation.
