Nicholas Constantine Metropolis was born on June 11th, 1915, in Chicago. In 1936 he received his bachelor’s degree, and in 1941, his doctorate, both from the University of Chicago, and both in experimental physics.
Vernon O. Struebing was a chemist who worked at Los Alamos as a civil scientist during the Manhattan Project.
Attended Cornell University.
