Martin G. Murray served as a corporal in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was regularly assigned to the Necessary Evil as a tail gunner, but flew in the Big Stink in the Nagasaki Mission.
Sir Samuel Curran (1912-1998) was a British physicist. Curran was born in Ballymena, Ireland. In his early years, Curran studied mathematics and physics at Glasgow University.
Donald Trauger (1920-2008) was an American physicist. Born in Nebraska, Trauger attended Nebraska Wesleyan University before he accepted an assistantship position at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.
Carrie Johnson was a laboratory assistant in the Chemistry Division of the University of Chicago’s Metallurgical Laboratory (“Met Lab”) during the Manhattan Project.
