John P. McBride was a research assistant in the Chemistry Division at the Chicago Met Lab. He was later assigned to Oak Ridge, where he worked on plutonium purification and on isolating uranium-233 isotopes from thorium.
Richard “Dick” H. Nelson served as a private first class in the 509th Composite Group. He was the radio operator on the Enola Gay during its mission to Hiroshima.
L. D. Burtenshaw worked for the Tennessee Eastman Corporation at the Y-12 Plant.
