Anthony J. (“Tony”) Matz was a procurement officer at the University of Chicago Met Lab. He helped obtain, handle, and move many of the materials for Chicago Pile-1 and witnessed it going critical on December 2, 1942.
Benjamin C. Diven was born in northern California, and graduated from University of California, Berkeley with a degree in physics in 1941.
Josephine Hinch was a research assistant at the University of Chicago’s Metallurgical Laboratory (“Met Lab”) during the Manhattan Project.
