J. B. Livingston worked for the Roane-Anderson Company. He was the first civilian employee on the ground at Oak Ridge. He worked on security for the scientists’ village and became the head of security for the reservation. He later joined the city police force. His is the first name on the city charter. He and his wife won” the lottery to buy the first privately owned house, but she wanted to go back to Daytona, Fla.
