Haskell Sheinberg arrived at Los Alamos in late 1944 as part of the Special Engineer Detachment. Sheinberg’s first assignment was to purify plutonium under the direction of Arthur Wahl, one of the co-discoverers of plutonium.
Henry Fritz was a chemist in the Special Engineering Detachment assigned to the K-25 Plant in Oak Ridge, Tennesee.
Larry Weintraub (1921-2011) was a staff member at Los Alamos from 1946 until 1981. Born in Jersey City, Weintraub graduated from the Cooper Union Institute of Technology in 1942 with a degree in chemical engineering.
