William G. (“Bill”) Hudgins spent most of childhood years in New Mexico. He first heard about a secret wartime laboratory at Los Alamos in 1943, when he was a student at the University of New Mexico.
William Chandler enlisted in the Army at the age of 17, and was assigned to the Army Specialized Training Program (ASTP) at the University of Kentucky and Purdue University.
George R. Fogarty served in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron.
Hector Morton served in the 1st Ordnance Squadron.
