Ben Benjamin was a sergeant in the Special Engineer Detachment during the Manhattan Project. He had previously worked in industry making lenses and prisms, and was assigned to the Optics Group to help with photographing the Trinity Test.
J. J. Gallagher worked for Clinton Laboratories at the X-10 Reactor.
Gertrude Nissenbaum was a stenographer at the University of Chicago’s Metallurgical Laboratory (“Met Lab”) during the Manhattan Project.
James W. Strudwick served as a captain in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was regularly assigned as a bombardier in the Up An’ Atom.
