Raymond Schwartz grew up in West Allis, WI. After graduating from high school, he worked as an apprentice machinist for Allis Chalmers Corporation, until enlisting in the Army in February 1943.
Hoylande Young Failey was a senior chemist at the University of Chicago’s Metallurgical Laboratory (“Met Lab”) during the Manhattan Project.
Wilde worked at the 100-D Area at Hanford during the Manhattan Project.
James Leo Woods worked at Columbia University in the Pupin Laboratory as the head of the Tool and Dye making department.
