John P. Crisp

Y-12 Plant

John P. Crisp, from Robbinsville, NC, helped construct the K-25 plant in Oak Ridge while working for the G.G. Ray Company. During his time in Oak Ridge, he met and later married Dorortha “Dot” Hogan, who was working as a chemical operator, better known as a “Calutron Girl” at the Y-12 plant in Oak Ridge.

First living in Happy Valley near K-25, he and his new bride were later assigned a trailer in Gamble Valley before moving into a small apartment and later a duplex on the Oak Ridge Reservation.
