Walter A. Spradlin served as a staff sergeant in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was the tail gunner regularly assigned to the B-29 Strange Cargo.
Roy W. Carlson was an engineer. He worked on the Manhattan Project at Los Alamos and the University of California, Berkeley, as a member of the Explosives Division and Group X-2A.
Palevsky worked on the Manhattan Project at the University of Chicago and Los Alamos. She was part of the team that designed the lenses used to photograph the Trinity test.
