Nicholas Constantine Metropolis was born on June 11th, 1915, in Chicago. In 1936 he received his bachelor’s degree, and in 1941, his doctorate, both from the University of Chicago, and both in experimental physics.
Norris Bradbury (1909-1997) was an American physicist and director of the Los Alamos National Laboratory from 1945-1970.
Adele Koskosky was a laboratory technician in the Chemistry Division at the University of Chicago’s Metallurgical Laboratory (“Met Lab”) during the Manhattan Project.
