Dorothy worked at Oak Ridge during the Manhattan Project as a “calutron girl.” After her brother was killed in the attack on Pearl Harbor, she was eager to join the war effort, and did so starting in 1944.
Aram E. Bezdegian served as a private first class in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was a member of the ground crew regularly assigned to the B-29 Up An’ Atom.
William Spindel was a member of the Special Engineer Detachments at Oak Ridge and Los Alamos. Spindel worked in a group that helped make coatings for the implosion bomb.
