Dorothy worked at Oak Ridge during the Manhattan Project as a “calutron girl.” After her brother was killed in the attack on Pearl Harbor, she was eager to join the war effort, and did so starting in 1944.
Gilbert Mathis was an electrical engineer at Los Alamos from 1943 to 1946. He was recruited for the Manhattan Project as a member of the US Army Signal Corps.
H. T. Hunsicker worked for the Midwest Piping and Supply Company.
