Elberta Honstein (née Lowdermilk) was the daughter of Elbert Lowdermilk, the contractor whose construction company, Lowdermilk Brothers, built roads and utility lines around Los Alamos during the Manhattan Project.
Qian Xuesen (1911-2009), also known as Hsue-Shen Tsien, was a Chinese physicist. Qian was born in Hangzhou and studied at university in Shanghai.
Vera Williams was in charge of the housing office at Los Alamos during the Manhattan Project. The wife of physicist John Williams, she also helped organize a maid service to help with housework and childcare.
