Edward S. Fleischer was born on November 3, 1921, in Palo Alto, California. During the 1930s he attended the University of California, Berkeley.
Martin G. Murray served as a corporal in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was regularly assigned to the Necessary Evil as a tail gunner, but flew in the Big Stink in the Nagasaki Mission.
Married to John Weil, a mechanical engineer in the SED.
