Leonard P. Pepkowitz

Leonard Pepkowitz (1915-2006) was an American chemist.

Pepkowitz was born in Paterson, New Jersey. He earned a B.S. from the University of Minnesota and a Ph.D. from Rutgers University.

In 1944, Pepkowitz went to Los Alamos to work on the Manhattan Project. During his time there, he was a group leader in analytical chemistry After the war, he went to work on radiochemistry for General Electric. Pepkowitz later taught at Erie Community College in Buffalo, New York. He was also a member of the Atomic Energy Commission’s committee for materials and methods of measurements.

Leonard Pepkowitz died on October 19, 2006, in Amherst, New York.
