Nannilee Saunders set up the elementary at Los Alamos, NM, during the Manhattan Project. She began to work at Los Alamos in August 1943, working for 11 months while on a leave of absence from a college in Chicago.

Stephen W. Briggs, Jr.

Steven W. Briggs, Jr. served in the 320th Troop Carrier Squadron. 

Arlene G. Scheidenhelm

Arlene Gertrude Scheidenhelm (1908-1970) was the Director of the Women’s Army Corps for the Manhattan District.
