Lucille Whitman worked as a secretary for Tennessee Eastman during the Manhattan Project in Oak Ridge. Whitman worked in Eastman's administration building, where she handled top secret documents. She also posed for pictures as a calutron operator, and the photographs were used for publication and recruitment purposes. After the war, Whitman remained in Oak Ridge and worked as a secretary for Martin Marietta Energy Systems.
