George W. Marquardt served as a captain in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. Although he was regularly assigned to the Up An’ Atom, he flew in the mission to bomb Hiroshima as the aircraft commander of the Necessary Evil.
Brown worked at the 100-F Area at Hanford during the Manhattan Project.
George H. Cohen served as a 1st lieutenant in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was regularly assigned to the B-29 Top Secret.
