William E. Wright served as a captain in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was the regularly assigned navigator for the Big Stink, and he and his crew were later reassigned to Luke the Spook.
Robert Reynolds was a research assistant at the Metallurgical Laboratory in Chicago during the Manhattan Project.
Cloyd Marvin had been drafted into the Army, interrupting his education at Haverford University, in 1943 and joined the Special Engineer Detachment as a technician third grade, later being assigned to Los Alamos National Labs in 1947.
