James R. Corliss served as a technical sergeant in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was regularly assigned to work as a flight engineer on the Up An’ Atom but did not fly in that plane during the August 1945 bombing missions on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
James A. Rafferty was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 4th, 1886. Rafferty attended the Lewis Institute of Technology where he pursued engineering and chemistry.
