William G. (“Bill”) Hudgins spent most of childhood years in New Mexico. He first heard about a secret wartime laboratory at Los Alamos in 1943, when he was a student at the University of New Mexico.
Norris W. Embrey was a laboratory assistant at the University of Chicago’s Metallurgical Laboratory (“Met Lab”) during the Manhattan Project.
Nelson worked at the 200 West Area at Hanford during the Manhattan Project.
Miriam White Campbell was an American Army officer. Campbell was born in 1918 in Indiana. She studied at engineering at Purdue University and at the University of Illinois before dropping out to join the Women’s Army Corps in 1942.
