Patricia Hansard worked as a “cubicle girl” in the Y-12 Plant from 1943 until the end of the war. Hansard sought employment at Oak Ridge after seeing an ad in the newspaper and was hired shortly after her high school graduation. Born and raised in Knoxville, she continued to live in Tennessee after the war.
