Henry Howard Roerkohl was commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant in the QM Corps Reserve on Jan 16, 1940. On Nov 9, 1942 Howard was transferred to the Northwest Service Command (NWSC), located in Whitehorse, Canada in the Yukon Territory.
William A. Hichler was a laboratory helper at the University of Chicago’s Metallurgical Laboratory (“Met Lab”) during the Manhattan Project.
Francis X. Dolan was a sergeant in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He served as the radio operator of the Necessary Evil, but flew in the Big Stink during the Nagasaki Mission.
