Russell Jim is a member of the Yakama Nation near the Hanford site. As the head of the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Indian Nation’s Environmental Restoration and Waste Management Program, he actively advocates for the cleanup of the site and the protection of the treaty rights of the Yakama Nation.

Richard Claassen was a research assistant at the SAM Lab at Columbia University from 1944 to 1946. While there, he built and used fluidic systems to test for unusual leaks in diffuser tubes.
