Laverne Bloom worked as a Military Policeman from 1945-1946 in Hanford, Washington. While not on guard duty, Bloom often cooked for his troop and occasionally made meals for the director of the Manhattan Project, General Leslie Groves.
Robert R. Garn served as a corporal in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was a member of the ground crew regularly assigned to the B-29 Laggin’ Dragon.
Evelyn O. Gaston was a laboratory technician in the Health Division at the University of Chicago’s Metallurgical Laboratory (“Met Lab”) during the Manhattan Project.
