National Museum of Nuclear Science & History

Raycliffe C. Davis was a graduate of Central College in Pella, Iowa.  He joined the Army while living in Cedar Rapids, IA, and was assigned with Special Engineering Detachment in Oak Ridge, TN in April 1944. While in Oak Ridge working on the Manhattan Project, he did extensive traveling to Chicago, Santa Fe, and other places across the United States with Max Gittler, Ed Babinsky and possibly others. He continued working in Oak Ridge in the Thermonuclear division until his retirement and remained in Oak Ridge until his death in 1990.
