Richard Lyon was a research assistant at the University of Chicago’s Metallurgical Laboratory (“Met Lab”) during the Manhattan Project.

According to the Journal of Glenn T. Seaborg, Vol. 3, Lyon was also the Assistant Section Chief of the Development Engineering section of the Technical Division (Seaborg, p. 302).
