W. G. Chmielewski was a carpenter at the University of Chicago’s Metallurgical Laboratory (“Met Lab”) during the Manhattan Project.
Roy Loebe worked for the Tennessee Eastman Corporation at the Y-12 Plant.
Robert J. Stock served as a sergeant in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was regularly assigned as a tail gunner to the Bockscar, but did not fly on that plane during the Nagasaki bombing mission in August of 1945.
William E. Caldes studied chemical engineering at Princeton University. In 1943, he was recruited to join the Manhattan Project, and became the 19th project member at Los Alamos.
