Thomas O. Jones volunteered to join the Army before the start of WWII. As the war began to unfold in Europe, Jones was placed in a sub-organization of the Army called the Counterintelligence Corps.
Francis A. Pellegrino served as a sergeant in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was a member of the ground crew regularly assigned first to Luke the Spook and later to Big Stink.
Francis D. Thornhill served as a captain in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He was the navigator on the Straight Flush during the Hiroshima mission.
Mills worked in the 300 Area at Hanford during the Manhattan Project.
