Norman Elliott was a research associate in the Chemistry Division at the University of Chicago’s Metallurgical Laboratory (“Met Lab”) during the Manhattan Project.
Clare Whitehead joined the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC) in 1943. After training in the Manhattan Engineer District and working in Oak Ridge, she transferred to Hanford, where she was a secretary for military intelligence.
Martha Zukas was a nurse at Oak Ridge and Los Alamos during the Manhattan Project. One of nine children, Zukas grew up in Ellwood City, PA.
D. E. Jones worked for the J.A. Jones Construction Company.
