Raymond Schwartz grew up in West Allis, WI. After graduating from high school, he worked as an apprentice machinist for Allis Chalmers Corporation, until enlisting in the Army in February 1943.
Chien-Shiung Wu (1912-1997) was a Chinese American physicist. During the Manhattan Project, she worked at Columbia University, helping develop the process for separating uranium metal into U-235 and U-238 isotopes by gaseous diffusion.
Dorothy Isgett worked for the Tennessee Eastman Corporation at the Y-12 Plant.
J. D. Gibson worked for the Roane-Anderson Company.
