The Y-12 Plant in Oak Ridge, Tennessee

Thomas Little was a millwright for the civilian contractor Tennessee Eastman Company from 1944 to 1946. He began working at the Y-12 plant in January 1944, repairing and maintaining Pyrex Glass Pipes and Porcelain Pipes. His work reqired the use of nonmagnetic tools because of the extremely strong electromagnets used in the process to separate Uranium-235 from Uranium-238.
