Jean Dow Bacher was born in 1907, and grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She married fellow Ann Arbor native and leading Manhattan Project scientist Robert Bacher in 1930.
Rachel “Rae” Erlanger worked on the Manhattan Project for the Kellex Corporation. She grew up in New York City.
Colonel James Marshall (1897-1977) was district engineer of the Manhattan Engineer District. Marshall earned a position in the Army Corps of Engineers during his years at West Point.
