George L. Brabenec was a master sergeant in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. He served as the flight engineer of the Necessary Evil, but flew in the Big Stink during the Nagasaki mission.
William E. Caldes studied chemical engineering at Princeton University. In 1943, he was recruited to join the Manhattan Project, and became the 19th project member at Los Alamos.
